MORE THAN A BROWSER

Oregan Media Browser delivers more than a User Interface technology. We have integrated support for popular web standards and formats with synergistic technologies for streaming and playback of high definition video and audio over IP. Oregan Media Browser is a complete suite of broadband entertainment software building blocks for media client devices, incorporating three software modules into one seamless media access application for resource-constrained non-PC appliances.

DESIGNED FOR TV

Oregan Media Browser is a product for top Consumer Electronics brands, featuring CE-HTML and vector graphics rendering functionalities, whilst maintaining low footprint and memory requirements.

Oregan's browser provides an elegant and user-friendly solution to display Internet content on any TV screen, taking full advantage of high definition television formats.

TV BROWSER AND OPEN WIDGETS

Oregan TV Browser features an Open Widget library. This feature enables new content and applications to be readily presented to consumers via a Widget pop-up over the user interface or live video.

  • As an example the Onyx UI features Widgets showing live data from Google weather, BBC News, BBC Sport, Yahoo, YouTube and Netflix.
  • Customisable design: shape, screen position, eventing & invoke mechanism, graphics, transparency.
  • Created as a browser module, enabling non-obtrusive delivery of web applications and content over IP, in conjunction with broadcast and IP video streams.
  • Implemented as per W3C Widgets 1.0 specification, represents a client-side web application for displaying and updating data.
  • Widgets can be factory installed or downloaded over IP as a user-initiated enhancement.
  • Flexible and open for any data feed sources and graphics chosen by an OEM.

CEA-2014 (CE-HTML) COMPLIANCE

Oregan Media Browser supports the CEA-2014 specifification, which enables online web services that have been developed to this standard to be delivered seamlessly to devices running Oregan Media Browser.

DLNA 1.5 COMPLIANCE

Oregan's DLNA module enables sharing of commercial and personal digital content over home networks, supporting High Definition H.264, WMV-9 and mobile 3GP video codecs, as well as advanced mobile use cases.

The module is a fast-track solution for manufacturers of IP-connected TVs who wish to integrate home network interoperability standards prescribed by the DLNA organisation.

Oregan Media Browser has achieved the status of DLNA 1.5 Testbed Reference Device, which is to be utilised by DLNA members and Independent Certification Vendors (ICVs) during future plugfests and as part of the consortium's generic certification process.
