Oregan Networks middleware for Digital Home first to receive Intel Network Media Product Requirements conformance and interoperability validation
Intel Developer Forum Spring 2004 - Digital Home CommunitySAN FRANCISCO, February 17th, 2004 - Oregan Networks middleware for Digital Home reached an important milestone by passing Intel Network Media Product Requirement conformance and interoperability tests conducted recently by Intel Corporation.
Oregan's end-to-end middleware, comprising an Intel® Network Media Product Requirements (NMPR) validated PC host stack and embedded client, facilitates standards-based media streaming, home networking and premium content delivery. The unified user interface for control and management of DVD, home media and IP delivery of premium content is incorporated with Oregan's fully featured TV Internet browser, enabling HTML and Macromedia® Flash® content rendering. Oregan's core networking, media streaming and browsing solution is enhanced with advanced client stack features, including UPnP automatic network and content discovery, online premium content access and interactive TV games.
"Being at the forefront of Digital Home convergence means providing solutions that reinforce consumers' confidence in the Networked Media Product category," said Mark Perry, CEO of Oregan Networks. He added, "Our ability to enable our customers to deliver solutions that are proven to be interoperable with other products that conform to Intel Network Media Product Requirements will increase the confidence of consumers that their investment is safe".
Oregan expects that solutions based on the newly validated end-to-end middleware solution will reach market in the second quarter of 2004. In addition, Oregan intends to continue its commitment to conformance to industry specifications and interoperability by participating in Digital Home Working Group conformance and interoperability testing when the specification is set and the testing process is implemented.
