The unified approach to embedded user interface and browser is based on utilization of a full
range of web graphics and plug-in engines for media access, presentation and flow.
The method of GUI generation benefits from Oregan's fully specified embedded TV Web Browser.
The user interface is generated as HTML or Macromedia® Flash® content, either on the host PC or Internet web server,
and subsequently rendered by Oregan's browser on the embedded client device.
Oregan's customers determine the major benefit of this approach in terms of richness and
customizability of its look and feel for the entirety of content dialog screens, using HTML
and Macromedia® Flash® tools. Secondly, an HTML-based GUI engine allows seamless navigation
between various content sources and device controls:
Home Network Media
IPTV and VOD
Internet and Premium Content
Broadcast TV
Native device control
Home automation control
Oregan's client-side UI is rendered and navigated independently of the PC, thus avoiding the latency issues associated with user interfaces that are remoted from the home PC. This method is a key advantage for delivering content directly to the embedded device with the PC switched off, or for time-sensitive on-demand entertainment applications, such as interactive games and services.
